Hi everyone

Garmin is not repairing Forerunner 305 any longer. For that reason, in case of a malfunction you have the following options:

Press MODE + POWER for instances (attention, since u will loose all favourite data)
Than, certify your device is workimg properly.
Next step:
Update your Garmin Express:

Windows: http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/GarminExpress.exe

Mac: http://download.garmin.com/omt/express/GarminExpress.dmg

If the equipment stills not working properly…..u have to buy a new GPS.

Hey, thanks. Out of the blue my Forerunner 305 would not connect and sync with Training Center, and Garmin WebUpdater could not find the device. I did the soft reset and am back in business.

Soft reset worked on the 205. Hopefully the 305 (which v strangely suffered the same symptoms of being dead on the same day as the 205??!!) will work too – gotta find it first though!

soft reset worked for me. thanks much. My 305 is at least 8 years old. I am happy it continues on doing all it does for me.
